Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been urged to sign German teenager Florian Wirtz in the near future
Wirtz, 18, has scored five goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season and was named the competition's Player of the Month in September.
The winger also has four senior caps for Germany - despite his age - and was part of the team that won the U21 Euros last June.
Liverpool have previously been linked with Wirtz, although rivals Manchester United are believed to be in pole position for his signature .
Nevertheless, Eintracht Frankfurt legend and pundit Charly Korbel has backed Klopp to lure the 18-year-old to Anfield.
"A player like Wirtz needs an environment in which he feels comfortable in order to develop," Korbel told German outlet SportBild via Sport Witness .
"If he leaves in 2023 or 2024, he can choose the club: Barcelona , Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool. I think he would do well with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, as the successor to Sadio Mane."
Mane isn't expected to leave Liverpool anytime soon, but the Reds will eventually need to replace the 29-year-old and his team-mate Mohamed Salah, 29.
The Reds are currently without both players as they aim to win the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Wirtz has been tipped to achieve plenty of success in his blossoming career and his international manager Hansi Flick is a big fan.
