Preston North End defender Joe Rafferty is hoping to face Liverpool at Anfield in the next round of the Carabao Cup
Rafferty was part of the Preston side that earned a 4-1 win over Cheltenham Town last night to book their place in the fourth round.
The 27-year-old spent nine years in the Liverpool Academy between 2003 and 2012, and is now eyeing a return to Merseyside.
"I've volleyed the ball somewhere into that stand (after scoring). It’s a little bit of everything, a bit of anger, frustration," he told Lancs Live after the game when reflecting on his goal.
"It's been tough, I'm not going to lie, it has been tough - overall, I was just delighted to score. I was made up.
"Personally I want to play at Anfield but sometimes you want a team lower than you or in the same (league) to give yourselves a chance of progressing."
