Liverpool have frequently been mooted as potential suitors for Kylian Mbappe this summer
It is highly unlikely that the Reds will make a move for the French international with his €200million price tag running him out of contention for a Paris to Anfield switch.
The 22-year-old has announced he wants to leave the French capital and has reportedly told his teammates that he will respect the final year of his contract - and leave on a free transfer next summer.
Mbappe continued to be touted for a move to Anfield but former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch believes the arrival of the World Cup winner wouldn't make or break the Reds title campaign next season.
"Kylian Mbappe, he would be an ideal signing, but do Liverpool have the financial clout? A deal for Mbappe would cost a heck of a lot of money," Crouch said.
“The way he plays, and the way Liverpool play with that energy and pace, Mbappe would freshen up that front three. But the way Liverpool have bought in the past is not buying someone at the top of their game now, it’s buying someone and then improving them.
"Even if they did sign Mbappe, that wouldn't guarantee them the title. He’s a top player, I get that, but Manchester City are so strong and whoever their rivals sign, that won’t tie up the league."
