Sergio Ramos is out with calf injury for an unknown period of comeback and it's relief for Mohamed Salah and Liverpool according to Kevin Phillips
Phillips, a former Premier League forward and European golden shoe winner believes Liverpool forward Mo Salah will have mixed feelings over Ramos' absence from their Champions League quarter-finals first leg showdown with Real Madrid this week.
Salah had to be substituted during the 2018 Champions League final through a shoulder injury after being wrestled to the ground in Kiev by the Spain international.
However, Ramos will miss both legs of the sides' quarter-final clash this year through injury himself.
Kevin Phillips told Football Insider : "There's probably a big part of Salah just thinking ‘I’m glad he’s out because he’s a nuisance.
"He'll have mixed feelings. As a player, when the opposing team has one of their best defenders out you’re happy generally.
"If you had the choice, you'd say 'no I don't want him to play' but if you've got that personal duel you will want to get one over on the other player.
"It is a shame but it's a positive for Liverpool that one of Real Madrid’s best players isn’t going to be there."
