Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has expressed frustration over Reds fourth defeat in a row after the 2-0 lost to Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday
Souness believes Liverpool are currently “an easy touch” with the reigning Premier League champions struggling, losing their four home League games in a row.
Everton won at Anfield for the first time since 1999 on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side rarely threatened against their rivals. Goals from from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson helped the Toffees secured a breakthrough ending a 21-year-old infamous record.
Liverpool icon Souness did not hold back in his criticism of the Reds after the match.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness reserved praise for Everton and revealed his frustration of watching his former side losing four games consecutively.
"That was a shadow of the Liverpool team," Souness said.
"As a Liverpool supporter, l am deeply disappointed by my team. It didn't look like they had any aggression, or fight or energy about them.
"Liverpool used to be horrible to play against. Now everybody wants to play against them. They are an easy touch.
"Fair play to Everton, the win was thoroughly-deserved. They set out to be hard to play against.
"Everton did the business, the defended when they had to, the goalkeeper made a couple of really good saves, and they deserved it.
"2-0 doesn't flatter Everton. In all the areas that are important, they were better than Liverpool."
