Jurgen Klopp is looking to add a new defender from the market with less than 48 hours left to close window
Liverpool defensive problems continue as they suffered more injury setbacks in Thursday's win over Tottenham.
The Reds this time around are left with no senior centre-half after Matip was injured during the Thursday evening victory leaving the club's resources stretched even further.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that his ambition is to try and bring a new defender before the end of the month.
"I don't know, but we will try," he said.
"It would be funny if people thought Liverpool are just fine with the situation and don't care or don't try.
"We try, but there's nothing to say until something happens. We will see.
"The situation yesterday didn't make it easier but we still try do the right things. If that's possible then we will do it, if not then not."
