Don Hutchinson: Mo Salah is getting carried away by Real Madrid and Barcelona links

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been criticised for recent showings having promoted fear over his Anfield future

The Reds forward who missed two clear cut chances in the recent goalless draw at Newcastle has been labelled 'sloppy and casual' by former Liverpool player Don Hutchinson.

Despite, Salah has been one of Liverpool's outstanding players since joining from Roma back in 2017 , Hutchison a former Reds midfielder believes the Egyptian has long been a source of frustration for fans with his style of play.

Hutchison also opined that Real Madrid and Barcelona transfer rumours may have added to the 28-year-old's 'sloppy performances' recently.

He told Optus Sport : "I think he is world class. But he frustrates you when you watch him play, and not just with his finishing.

"It's the simple things, he doesn't complete a 10-yard pass, he seems a bit sloppy, bit casual.

"Sometimes he upsets the flow of Liverpool. He can give a ball away and Liverpool have to start again.

"Maybe the noises of Real and Barca may have affected him a little – but he seems off it."
