Mohamed Salah goal against Midtjylland earned him a new Liverpool benchmark as all time leading Champions League goalscorer
The Egyptian scored after just 55 seconds in Jurgen Klopp’s side’s 1-1 draw with Midtjylland , with his 22nd Champions League goal for the club moving him one ahead of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
With the Reds place in the competition's knockout already secured , 28-year-old Mohamed Salah is now looking ahead to extending his total further when the competition resumes in 2021.
"It's a great feeling of course to be the top scorer for this club and in their history,” Salah told BT Sport after the game. “Something I am proud of but I need to keep going like that and score more goals.
"I need to make the gap bigger between me and him (Gerrard). I am trying all the time to score goals to help the team win games. That’s the most important thing."
