Jurgen Klopp tip Chelsea as favourite to win Premier League

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has explained why Chelsea are looking like favourites to win the Premier League title this season

The German boss led Liverpool to an honourable Premier League title win last season with a jaw-dropping 104 point the highest to have ever been recorded in the competition's history.

The Anfield outfit are looking to retain the title this season but that have proved difficult after a sloppy first half of the campaign where injuries have battered them severely.

It made sense that Jurgen Klopp has forecasted a difficult season that could be dominated by Frank Lampard's in-form Chelsea side that went top of the Premier League table prior to the Reds clash with Wolves at Anfield.

"If I watch football games at the moment then Chelsea, for me, look like favourites," Klopp said.

"They have the biggest squad, great players playing well together after a rusty start - and they are full on.

"They have unbelievable opportunities to change in games and make changes from one game to the other - so that is it.

"Pressure is there for us but it's about how much you think about that pressure, to be honest."

Chelsea had proved Jurgen Klopp right when they came back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues boss , Frank Lampard said after the match: "I was nervous of Leeds. They're a threat until the end if you don't get a cushion.

"They are pretty unique in their style and they're well coached. We knew it was a big task.

"Character-wise and performance-wise, on lots of levels, I'm absolutely delighted."
