Former Egypt star says 'unhappy' Mo Salah could be shown Anfield exit door

Salah recently expressed unfair treatment by Liverpool after Champions League draw against Midtjylland

The Liverpool forward publicly expressed his frustration at not being named captain against Midtjylland, telling AS he was "very disappointed" at Jurgen Klopp's decision.

Salah was expecting Klopp to grant him Liverpool captain armband as the most senior player on the pitch that night but the Reds boss opted for 22-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold to lead his side.

Further inklings were promoted after the Egyptian was kept on the bench against Crystal Palace until second half of the 7-0 victory.

But now Salah 's countryman and former international teammate Mohamed Aboutrika has added fuel to the fire stating that Liverpool  are considering selling the 28-year-old.

"I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that would never affect his performance on the field," Aboutrika told beIN Sports.

"I know that Salah is not happy at Liverpool . He told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public. One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland ."

"If Salah was a player at Real Madrid or
Barcelona , and playing at the same level as
Liverpool , he would've won the Ballon d'Or," Aboutrika added. "In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic purposes.

"I do not have any influence over Salah 's decisions, he is my friend and brother, and he is smart enough to know what is best for himself."
