Liverpool are reportedly contemplating launching a swoop to sign Ajax centre-back Perr Schuurs
The Reds are tipped to dip into the transfer market in January to bring in a new central defender to ease the burden on team young players amid Virgil van Dijk's injury.
Schuurs has emerged as one of Klopp’s preferred targets for the purpose according to the Mirror.
The 20-year-old currently at Ajax has filled in the void left by Matthijs De Ligt and has emerged as one of the more promising centre-backs in Europe.
Schuurs played a starring role in last month’s Champions League clash between Jurgen Klopp's men and Ajax at the Johan Cruyff ArenA, and it was reportedly during the game he caught Klopp's eye once again after two years of his trial at Anfield.
The Mirror claims Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was impressed with the Dutch star performance and despite the Reds winning 1-0, the German went on to speak highly of him when discussing the game with his coaching staff.
