Joel Matip is set to bolster Liverpool’s squad ahead of their Champions League clash with Atalanta
The Cameroon international has been absent from the last four games due to a muscle problem picked up during the 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park last month.
That has left Joe Gomez as the only senior centre-back standing, with Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk ruled out with injury.
But there's hope for Jurgen Klopp's back four amidst the return of Joel Matip as the Reds prepare to face Atalanta in the Champions League.
However, midfielder Thiago who was expected to return for the clash will continue to be on sidelines.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed: "Naby and Joel trained yesterday with the team, full, Thiago didn’t. So, that’s the situation.
“I have really no idea what I do with this information in the moment because yes, they trained, that’s good, it’s better than if they don’t train. But we have to see what we do with it.
"We have another day to make these decisions. A lot of players will be on the plane hopefully, and so decisions will be made late, late, late."
