Liverpool legend John Barnes is not expecting his former side to sign Jadon Sancho
For some favoured reasons Liverpool's interest on Sancho over the past year has been brought to cool.
One of the reasons behind the Reds turning attention away is the asking-price slapped on the 20-year-old.
But Barnes thinks outside that there are other reasons why Liverpool must not sign the England international.
Barnes believes the Dortmund winger will struggle to beat Liverpool's front trio to first team appearances.
"I can't see Sancho getting in ahead of Mane, Salah or [Roberto] Firmino," the Liverpool legend said. "So for him to come he would have to fight for a place and not necessarily be in the team.
"I don't think anyone from the front three will be replaced and seeing as they've just signed Jota and they have [Divock] Origi and [Xherdan] Shaqiri, it doesn't make sense to get Sancho. I’d be very surprised if they get him.
“It's good to get great players, but are Liverpool going to spend £100m on one player? I doubt it very much. I don't think that's one that will happen."
Liverpool have longed look to sign Sancho but not now that Manchester United are spearheading the £100million chase.
