Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves used Thomas Partey's performance against Liverpool to demonstrate why player is a perfect signing for Arsenal
Owen Hargreaves apparently ran out of superlatives for Partey as he explained in detail why he's such a good signing for the Gunners.
The former Manchester United midfielder used the Ghanaian's performance against Liverpool when he was at Atletico Madrid to demonstrate what he can do.
And while watching a clip of the 27-year-old bossing the midfield against Liverpool in the Champions League, Hargreaves gushed on BT Sport: "I'm definitely excited, I love this guy.
"Twenty seven, £45million, a lot of money that maybe Arsenal didn't have, but Mikel knows he needs this guy at the heart of his team, he gives them something different.
"He's quick, he's a good athlete, he doesn't mind. He says 'Come on then, Origi, I don't mind, one-vs-one, I can take anyone'.
"He's comfortable, shows him down the line, 'Get off', too easy.
"This guy has everything you need from a modern midfielder. The hardest place in the world to play football, at Anfield, look at all the chaos around there.
"He gets the worst pass, chops past Mane, 'See you later'. Chops past Henderson, megs Alexander-Arnold and he keeps going, then they transition up the pitch.
"This is what he can do. He can do everything.
"This one, at the Emirates, against Arsenal. Too strong, too quick, technically good. I think the guy just has so much to his game.
"His whole repertoire, he just has everything. He can play every pass. Play it long, play it short, put it on a plate.
"Just to finish it off, he's got a bit of magic as well from the edge of the box.
"We've seen the defensive side which is what he's going to bring, the long range passing, and the shooting from distance to get goals.
"He's the perfect modern midfield player. Arsenal have got a lot of really good players but I think this guy is going to improve them and make them a different side."
