Jota made the Reds' set up against Lincoln in the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening but has to come on from the bench
Last weekend Liverpool Sporting Director Michael Edwards moved quickly to snap up a deal for Diogo Jota after wrapping up the signing of Thiago Alcantara in few days earlier.
The 24-year-old came off the bench to make his Liverpool debut against England League one side Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup third round where they ran out a comfortable 7-2 win at the Sincil Bank.
But Jota may have fancied his chances of a start given that the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were inevitably going to be rested for the trip.
Jurgen Klopp opted to play Jota from the bench and made clear his decision before the match.
The Liverpool manager told Sky Sports: "I think it makes sense that he just watches our game a little bit from the side and from the television.
"He will come on 100 per cent, that's clear. I could have started him but I really want him to settle in.
"I want him to listen to the things we said in the three of four training sessions. That's the reason, no other."
