Joe Gomez was out of Liverpool impressive win over Chelsea that gifted Fabinho the opportunity to shine at the Centre-back position
Jurgen Klopp has revealed Joe Gomez could be available for Liverpool's clash with Arsenal on Monday, with Fabinho currently reigning at his role.
Both Gomez and Joel Matip missed the Reds' trip to Stamford Bridge at the weekend with midfielder Fabinho forced to partnern Virgil van Dijk as a centre-half player.
Stepping in for the injured Liverpool centre-halves Fabinho impressed at the center of the Reds' back-four leading them to their first clean sheet of the new season in a 2-0 scoreline.
Again the Brazilian was given another run at the backline when he replaced Virgil van Dijk in the Reds 7-2 demoliton of Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup third round on Thursday night.
Speaking after the game Klopp was asked if Fabinho's positional switch was a long-term answer to Liverpool current star studded midfield.
The Liverpool manager told Sky Sports: “What do I know? We have to make sure we have centre halves when we play football and Fabinho can obviously play the position very well, he’s fit and that’s good, so he gets minutes, that’s good for him.
"Joe [Gomez] should be back in training tomorrow [Friday] I hope so and the situation could look slightly different. But he is doing really well, if he plays like he played against Chelsea he can play as a centre half, 100%.
"If somebody else plays as a 6, he has another position."
