Liverpool given exemption from UK quarantine rules for Austria travellers

Liverpool will be exempt from new UK coronavirus quarantine rules when they return from their training camp in Austria next week

Lfc rumour
Austria, along with Croatia and Trinidad and Tobago, will be added to the list of countries where people entering the UK will have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival from 4am on Saturday.

But the Reds are exempt from quarantine after completing an application through the Football Association.

The decision was passed because Jurgen Klopp's men are also playing matches in Austria.

Had their trip been purely for training purposes, the potential to have them quarantined would have been much higher.

Jurgen Klopp's side will be planning their return, after they face RB Salzburg on Tuesday having already played Stuttgart on Saturday.

But it's yet unclear when they will trip back home and with no restrictions upon their return, it means they will start their preparation at Melwood for the Community Shield clash against Arsenal on August 29.
