Lallana, whose deal with the Reds expired at the end of the season, signed a three-year contract with the Seagulls while Dejan Lovren joined Russia champions Zenith Saint Petersburg on a permanent transfer for a fee around £11million.

It's undeniable that both players positively impacted the Merseyside club before leaving. They became part of the club's productive campaigns in the last two seasons, winning the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and the club's first Premier League title.

Their exit will leave a positive feeling in the perspective of the Reds making one or more new signing(s) from the market in the short run.

The Reds have been linked with number of replacement for the two departed stars, most notably Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

However, there are several youngsters from the champion's youth ranks that can cover up in both roles, the likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott. 18-year-old Ki-Janna Hoever and Sepp Van Der Berg can fill in for Lovren.

The 2020 English football summer transfer window opened on Monday, July 27. Where must the Reds need to strengthen?
