Liverpool have been seeking for a cover left-back for Andrew Robertson since the departure of Spain international Alberto Moreno.
Since then, the Reds have been linked with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly who's currently under contract with the San Paolo club until 2023.
Koulibaly had previously admitted during last year Afcon tournament that he could be eyeing an exit from Napoli this summer.
And given the recent interest from number of Premier League clubs, the Senegal international could now be set to make it happen as he's keen on a new challenge in certainly the final stage of his career.
According to French outlet Le10 Sport, 28-year-old Koulibaly will take Liverpool move in the summer despite interest from Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle United.
Manchester United have been linked with Koulibaly in recent months but the Red Devils don't see him as an essential target, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Meanwhile, Newcastle who lately entered the race, are reportedly preparing an offer of a £10.5m-per-season deal at St. James' Park for the full-back.
