Following the announcement on Thursday both old rivals were speaking on the Sky Sport's Football show when former Manchester  United right-back Neville said: "We have no idea how any club is going to return.

"That is the one thing about this because there is no form guide to look at.

"We don't know what's going to happen. I mean Liverpool could lose all nine games!"

Neville believes the three-month break in place could have wild consequences on how teams perform when they're back on pitch.

This prompted the Manchester United legend to aim a cheeky dig at Liverpool.

Premier  League leaders Liverpool only need to win two of their nine matches to become champions of England for the first time since 1990.

And Carragher was swift to hit back at Neville for his claim. In response the Liverpool legend said: "And still probably win the league!"

The Premier League title race is all-but over because Liverpool hold a 25-point lead over

Manchester City . Pep Guardiola's men will make up their game in hand when they host Arsenal on June 17 - the date earmarked for the restart of the 2019/20 campaign.
