Trent Alexander-Arnold: Jurgen Klopp key to players' motivation and persistence

Jurgen Klopp is not only helping us win but also boosting players' tenacity too  - says Trent Alexander-Arnold

The 21-year-old right-back who has been  impressive for the Reds has enjoyed remarkable successes since his promotion to the club's senior ranks by Jurgen Klopp in 2016.

Liverpool haven't won a league title since 1990  but are apparently on the verge of breaking that jinx this term.

The Reds have headed into their winter break with a record 22 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

They've stayed unbeaten in 25 top-flight games this season and have picked up 100 points from the last 102 available to them.

It was a record breaking year for the Reds in 2019 when they won three major international championships.

And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's influence on the club and players has been lauded by Alexander-Arnold while speaking  on the club's official matchday programme.

In an interview with Liverpool's official matchday programme, the 21-year-old said: "He gives us all a lot of freedom so it’s very much the case that the players play to their strengths and are able to do that in different ways in the systems that we play.

"I think it's important that the team buys into that and the manager obviously understands what we need to do to win games.

"He's been like that for the time he’s been here, so he's transformed the club in an amazing way and going forward there'll hopefully be a lot more success with him.

"You can see on the touchline and in his interviews after and before the games, he's so passionate about the game and passionate about winning.

"We see it every day in training and it's important for us that he gives us those messages.

"He's not only just helping us win, he's giving us the mentality to be able to overcome any circumstance during a game."
