Positive and useful verdict given on star's future amid Adam Lallana exit claim

Liverpool have already - a perfect option that would fill in Adam Lallana's void when he leave Anfield in the summer

That's according to the claim of former Liverpool striker John Aldridge.

The former England player believe the Reds will have huge amount of money  to save in the transfer market when U23 skipper Curtis Jones finally find his way to the club's senior ranks.

It is understood that Liverpool are ready to offload Lallana in the summer after the midfielder has endured a long-term demotion under Jurgen Klopp.

Jones who has been impressive for the Reds' high and lows has now been tipped by Aldridge to take Lallana's boots in the long run to seal a permanent place in the Reds senior team.

19-year-old Jones was instrumental in Liverpool's FA Cup fourth-round replay win against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday,  and he also emerged that night - the youngest player in the club's  history to have captained a senior competition.

"I've been watching Curtis for some years now since he was 15. And you could see - very much like Trent Alexander-Arnold - the potential that the lad had," Aldridge told Sky Sports News.

"He is just a quality footballer with natural ability and a good arrogance. He knows he is good and he does things the right way.

"It looks like Adam Lallana is leaving at the end of the season after his contract expires. This lad will save the manager a lot of money because he can step right into the squad and you can always depend on him.

"He's got a fantastic future."
