Jurgen Klopp provides Jordan Henderson's injury update

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed Jordan Henderson will be on sidelines for three weeks with hamstring problem

Henderson limped out of the Red's 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash on Tuesday.

The Liverpool skipper is now set to miss the second leg at Anfield on 11 March according to update provided on the severity of the damage done ―  by boss Jurgen Klopp.

The 29-year-old will also miss Premier League contests against West Ham, Watford and Bournemouth and the FA Cup fifth round tie at Chelsea.

Klopp is obviously disappointed to lose the captain for the next three weeks, but knows the injury could be worse.

"Hendo, it could have been worse. How we all know, it was a hamstring," said the German."We heard of different hamstring injuries now around in the Premier League – Harry Kane, for example. It's not that bad.

"But he will be out, I think, for three weeks or so, which is not cool. But how we see it, we were still lucky. That's it.

"Hendo is exceptionally important, not only football-wise but for some other reasons as well which hopefully everybody knows,’ he said.

"But we still have options there and that's good. Yes, it's a chance of course, a chance for all of them. But there would have been a chance anyway, Hendo wouldn't have played all the games from now until the end of the season.

"It's a position where we can react so we will react."

Liverpool will  be away at Everton on 16 March in the Premier League and the Reds could possibly be welcoming Henderson's back for the derby.
