Jesse Lingard has revealed he turned down Manchester City and Liverpool to join Manchester United
Lingard was offered trials with some of England's biggest clubs at the age of seven before signing for Manchester United two years later.
The England midfielder has been a significant character for the Red Devils this season and was part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's XI that defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Lingard opened up on his decision to snub Anfield move while speaking on Manchester United's official podcast.
"It was left down to me to pick a club and I felt United were best suited to me personally, the 26-year-old said.
"(Manchester) City, Liverpool , Everton and I think Crewe at the time (were interested) but I knew Man United was my home.
"I have a picture in a United kit when I was one year old. When I was seven I had trials and signed when I was nine."
