Liverpool have reportedly contacted the representatives of Brazilian forward Neymar about a transfer
The PSG star has been linked with move away from France this term with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly keen on his signature.
Liverpool could be eyeing one or more marquee signing in the coming transfer windows after failing to do so last summer.
However, reports from French newspaper Le Parisien says PSG duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are now being tipped for the big move, with the Reds already in talks with Neymar's frontmen.
The report also stated that Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in signing Neymar and have as well made contact with the player's representatives.
Liverpool have enjoyed a decent attack in their last two campaigns, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all being productive.
Mane has been in terrific form for Liverpool this season, and his performances over the past year saw him nominated for the Ballon d'Or awards where he was ranked fourth.
But an issue the Merseysiders may now be wary of is a recent report that the Senegal international is wanted by PSG.
That could throw an agreement to land either Mbappe or Neymar to the dust as the League one giants would want a swap deal in which the Reds won't stand letting their star man leave.
PSG are reportedly demanding over €200million from suitors who want to sign Neymar in January.
