Jurgen Klopp has sent his warmed welcome message to 'desperate' Jose after the Portuguese appointment as Totteham maneger
Mourinho sealed a return to management at Tottenham , replacing Mauricio Pochettino less than 24 hours after the Argentinian was sacked.
Klopp admits the situation serves as a reminder of how quickly the game moves having beaten Spurs in the Champions League final less than six months ago.
Despite initially being shocked by the news, he has sent a message to former rival Mourinho and claimed it will be "interesting" to see how he performs in the hotseat in north London.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Crystal Palace , Klopp said: "Welcome back Jose! It's nice to have him back.
"You could see he was desperate when he was not in (work)!
"But on the other side, Mauricio is not there anymore and it shows how quickly things change nowadays. I think it was around five months ago we played each other in the Champions League final.
"Now he is on holiday, he can enjoy it. He did a brilliant job at Tottenham. He's an outstanding coach and a great guy, left and right of the game.
"When I heard it first I couldn't really believe it in that moment but a couple of hours later they already had a solution
I hope he can enjoy the next few days, weeks, months because it will not last long before he is back. And Jose is highly motivated obviously, that will be interesting as well."
