Pep Guardiola makes PL title admission as Aston Villa get trashed by City

Pep Guardiola is confident his Manchester City side can retain the Premier League if they maintain the way they played at the second half against Villa

The City boss admits he's more concerned with his side playing good football, saying they will be relegated if they play like they did in the first half against Aston Villa.

City ran out 3-0 winners over the Villians on Saturday, closing the gap on title rivals Liverpool to three points ahead of their match with Tottenham.

They however went into the break level before netting three times in the second half to win the game.

And the Spaniard is worried that if his side perform more regularly as they did in the first half the game they will hand the title to Liverpool.

Speaking after the win Guardiola said: "Six days ago we were eight points [behind], now we are three. That is a good experience for us but they have to play tomorrow against Tottenham.

"I am not concerned about the table. I am concerned about the way we played. If we play the level we played in the second half we will be there at the end of the season. If we play the way we did in the first half, we will be relegated.

"We played good 45 minutes, not the other ones. Credit to Aston Villa.

"The fast half we play football but not in the way we should play. The second half we were better, we play in the way we normally are but we have to try and play 90 minutes not just 45."
