Liverpool are boosted in Kylian Mbappe pursuit as new Nike sponsorship deal warms up
Liverpool have received boost to land Mbappe following court reinstatement of their charge with New Balance over an alleged sponsorship agreement that could have saw both party allying together again for another season.
New Balance seven-year deal with Liverpool as kit sponsors is set to come to an end at the end of this season while the Reds were looking up to Nike to replace the Boston based sportswear company.
New Balance brought forward a dispute regarding a matching clause in their current contract with the matter being taken to the High Court.
The Liverpool kit supplier had argued they retained the rights to remain with the Merseyside club if they were able to match an offer from competitors.
However, Liverpool objected by stating how New Balance couldn't match Nike's five-year, £30million a year offer in terms of marketing with the judge ruling in their favour.
Nike are now set to take over as Liverpool kit sponsors for next season with court ruling out New Balance's demur and it means more for Reds fans as the brand ambassador Kylian Mbappe is linked with move to Anfield.
Within a few hours of the court's announcement, more Red fans got over excited, posting "Sancho2020" and "Mbappe2020" on social platforms.
