Liverpool are reportedly leading Juventus in the race to sign Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir
The Reds were reported to have sent scout to watch the Turkey international last week where he puts on an incredible display against Fenerbahce in their Super Lig 1-1 draw.
Carkir made eight saves during the match and according to Turkish broadcaster Star TV Liverpool have contacted Trabzonspor's officials informing them they will continue to monitor the player's growth over the coming months.
It is clear that the Merseysiders are still on search for a long-term second choice goalkeeper but they will have to endure competition from one of Europe big-spenders Juventus if they have to sign Cakir.
Juventus have recently shown interest on the 23-year-old stopper although fresh reports have claimed Liverpool are now topping the list of potential suitors as the Old ladies are also keen on opening talks with Manchester United for David de Gea in January.
