Coutinho has been the object of a transfer tug-war between his former club Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain this summer as he is expected to leave the Nou Camp.

The former Liverpool midfield-pro has been unable to establish himself as the first-choice option for Ernesto Valverde on the left wing or in central midfield after he was presumed as a liable replacement for Andre Inesta following his record transfer last year winter.

Reports emerging from Spain in recent days had buttressed that Coutinho is sealing a move to PSG, claiming that the representatives of the Brazilian are in talks with the Ligue one giants for a potential transfer.

But that claim has now been arraigned by the player's agent Joorabchian while speaking in an interview with RMC Sport.

"I talked a few days ago with Pep Segura [general manager] at Barcelona," Joorabchian said.

"He told me that the club does not want to sell Coutinho this summer, no matter what. We have not had any contact with PSG."

With Liverpool's place in next season's Champions League, they now appears to be the only suitor well fashioned for Coutinho this summer as France' bigwigs PSG have now been revealed to have made no contact for the star man.
