Rafa Benitez has explained the way Liverpool fans can affect the Reds in helping them win the Champions League tonight

The current Newcastle boss was the Liverpool manager who masterminded the 'Miracle of Istanbul' in 2005 - where the Reds sensationally came from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan on penalties.
Since then Liverpool haven't won the competition but have reached the final twice and they will now face Tottenham on Saturday night at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid which would be their third final of the competition since 13 years.
Benitez can remember the influence the Reds' travelling supporters had on that occasion, with the Spaniard pointing to the crowds entering the stadium and the atmosphere they created at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
"They are fantastic. When they are supporting the team, you can feel the atmosphere at Anfield," Benitez told the Liverpool Echo.
"Here with the bigger stadium, I think it will be similar. I remember when we were in Istanbul you could see the queues of fans walking to the stadium and it was massive.
"As a player, you want to deliver for them. When I was the manager, I was thinking all the time about the great atmospheres.
"When people were asking me about the game against Barcelona , I was remembering the game against Real Madrid when we beat them 4-0. The Liverpool fans can re-create these special kind of atmospheres from Anfield here in Madrid.
"You can feel the atmosphere building. It will be a great atmosphere. The only problem is the number of fans without tickets so everyone needs to stay calm.
"The police are a little bit worried about that because there are so many but hopefully everything will be fine and everyone will be happy."
