The Ajax skipper appears to be on the brink of an exist this summer with the club CEO Edwin Van Der ser admitting the 19-year-old is opened to offers.
There is a long list of top European sides longing for the teenager's service but Liverpool and Barcelona are presumed favorites to land him.
But according to Esport3 and Catalunya Radio, De Ligt made it clear his wish to ditch every other suitors to join Barcelona this summer.
It is claimed Barca transfer officials met with De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, in Monte Carlo in April and a verbal agreement over a contract for the Dutch defender was reached.
De Ligt played a prolific season under the Dutch giants firing them to the Champions League semifinal and their 26th Erevdivisie title, and becoming one the youngest captain to do so in European football history.
