Philippe Coutinho's comeback to Anfield could be fated by Champions League victory over Manchester United and Porto
Barcelona secured an away victory against Manchester United on Wednesday night in the Champions League last-8. An own Goal from Luke Shaw helped the Spanish giants to maintain a first-leg 1-0 aggregate lead over the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, it was another piece of winning show for Liverpool as they trashed Portuguese champions FC Porto with two unreplied goals at Anfield.
If Barca can surpass United to qualify and Liverpool apparently get through against Porto then Coutinho will face his former club in the last four of the competition.
Prior to their first leg clash at Old Trafford Coutinho expressed his delight of getting himself back at Anfield if Liverpool and Barcelona eventually reached the last four.
“I know that Liverpool supporters will be with us at United. But they know that later we could see them at Anfield and then, of course, I will be there with Barcelona wanting to win.
Relishing on his chances to play at Anfield again the Brazilian added: "It would be a dream to play at Anfield again, an explosion of different feelings, I'm sure.
"But I have to be honest and say I would have preferred to meet Liverpool only in the final itself."
Still, before the clash Coutinho revealed he won't be troubled when he get singled out by chanting United fans as he spent five years at Anfield.
"It won't make any difference to me. I know that games against Manchester United are special. I learned what they meant during my time at Liverpool when we lived it so intensely with the fans.
"I have that nailed in my memory and, even though this is a different stage, if Barcelona knock United out of Europe, it will be a double personal satisfaction for me."
