£25m ace tipped to sign for Liverpool & pair Van Dijk

Tottenham ace defender Toby Alderweireld has been tipped by Steve Nicol to partner Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool

Alderweireld currently has a clause in his Spurs contract that makes him available for just £25million this summer.

Nicol believes Alderweireld will be leaving Tottenham with Real Madrid favored to be his destination if he longed for trophies. The ESPN pundit however insisted the Belgian service will be more valued at Anfield and would be a perfect pair for Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk.

"One hundred per cent this guy [Toby Alderweireld] is going," Nicol said.

"We just don't know where it is. Again, this is a player who I think most teams in the world would want as their centre-back.

"I wouldn't mind him at Liverpool alongside Van Dijk, I think that would be a great pairing.

"So yes, he's going to leave. Where does he go? I guess it's up to him. If he wants to move for money, he will go for the highest bidder regardless.

"But if he wants trophies, and you've got someone like Varane wanting to leave Real Madrid, I wouldn't be shocked if that was where he turns up."
