Oxlade-Chamberlain to return for Champions League second leg clash with Bayern

Oxlade-Chamberlain could finally make his first appearance after injury setback

Lfc rumour
Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't featured for the Reds this term following a knee injury he sustained in their first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Roma last season.

The former Arsenal man who has been on sidelines for more than 10 months is slated to appear for the Reds Under-23 in their Premier League 2 fixture at Derby County on Friday.

Liverpool Un-23 manager Neil Critchley confirmed the 25-year-old will feature for his youth rank.

"It's a possibility, yes. Obviously he's been training with the first team now. That has been spoken about.

"I think it will depend on how he goes during this week, in terms of his training. As the manager has previously said, there's no rush.

"We're not getting him back for a particular game. We have to do the right thing by him.

"If that situation arises on Friday, then it will be fantastic to see Alex back on the pitch."

Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp is eager to see Chambo impress at the youth rank on Friday and be back to team action against Bayern Munich for their 2nd leg Champions League round- 16 clash on Wednesday evening.
