Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are afraid of Liverpool the reporter claimed
The European elite competition would return in February and the Reds on Monday were drawn to face Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich in their first knock-out game.
Meanwhile, Both Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona will face Ajax and Lyon respectively.
Both the La Liga giants are excited to have avoided the Reds in the round of 16 - that was the claim made by one beIN sport reporter spotted outside the Nou camp at the time of the draw.
"In Spain, every single fan, every single newspaper and every single member of the Barcelona squad and the Real Madrid squad they had one objective - to avoid Liverpool in the last-16 round,” the reporter explained.
"And they still don’t want to face Liverpool in the next stages because they believe this is one of the strongest teams this season across Europe.
"They are leading the Premier League and they are in front of one of the best teams so far in Manchester City and they were the finalists last year against Real Madrid.
"One thing is clear in Spain, we have to avoid Liverpool."
No one in Spain wanted to face @LFC in the @ChampionsLeague and there's a sigh of relief that they've drawn @FCBayern.#UCLDraw #beINUCL pic.twitter.com/DVTBEUDbdN— beIN SPORTS (@beINSPORTS) December 17, 2018

The Reds managed to beat pass Napoli in the group stages to find their place in the knock-out stages of the competition but their fine form in the Premier League so far is an x-factor for any opponents to be wary of.
