African football legend El Hadji-Diouf admits he regretted his time at Liverpool
The Senegal international was signed to Liverpool by Gerard Houllier for £10million in 2002 and he played as a forward alongside Milan Baros.
Having tasted life at Anfield, it was understood that the African forward was in dispute with former club team mates Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
And now, the 37-year-old has revealed his linked with Barcelona and Manchester United and regretted why he never favoured a move to joined them.
When asked on the RMC Sport's Footissime show whether he regretted wearing a shirt in his career, Diouf replied: "I can say today that the shirt that I regret wearing the most was Liverpool's,because if I had to redo my career again I would go to FC Barcelona or Manchester United, at the time, they wanted me too."
In 2004 Diouf was loaned to Bolton Wanderers where he later signed a permanent deal before leaving for Sunderland in 2008, he played for a number British clubs before ending his career in Malaysian club Sabah.
