Liverpool is boosted to land Marcus Rashford as the United forward compare his game time to Trent Arnold's playing time at Anfield
The forward is yet to extend his stay with Manchester United and reports are claiming the 21-year-old firstly wants to be guaranteed of his role under the Portuguese.
This has led to questions why Jose Mourinho is not including the England international to his plan.
In response to the claims, the former Chelsea boss went on to compare him with fellow England youngsters, saying: "Marcus Rashford is not Dominic Solanke, not Ruben Loftus-Cheek, not Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
"He is Marcus Rashford, Manchester United player, with an incredible number of appearances and an incredible number of minutes played at the highest level in the best possible competitions."
Meanwhile, Rashford has reignited the argument by describing how Alexander-Arnold's consistent game time has led to his as a footballer.
"Trent has played quite a lot of games for his age.
"He's performed well throughout his time.
"Consistency is the biggest thing so if you’re getting consistent minutes you improve and that's what really separates as they get a little bit older.
"There's a lot of talent and we have a lot of them here."
Liverpool have now increased their chances to lure Rashford to Anfield in January regarding the player's claim about his fellow England team mate and Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnorld.
It is reported that Liverpool and Real Madrid are currently monitoring Rashford contract situation at Old Trafford while they could enter negotiation with Manchester United in the coming transfer window.
