Jurgen Klopp ruled out major team players ahead of Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade
The Liverpool manager has been hit with major injury setbacks as he tries to get Liverpool's Champions' League dream back on track.
Klopp confirmed he will be without both captain Jordan Henderson and fellow midfielder Naby Keita for the crucial showdown at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
And with James Milner also feeling small mass of muscle tightness at the end of the weekend's visit to Huddersfield, and Adam Lallana coming back from long term injury, that severely reduces his options.
It could mean £43m summer signing Fabinho gets his first Champions League start under the Reds, after appearing in the first XI only in the league cup clash with Chelsea earlier in the season.
"Naby and Hendo (Henderson) are not available," says Klopp.
But Naby is in a good way already, he is running and has been on the training field.
"We have to see, day by day, we can't put any pressure on that. Hendo got a little hamstring injury in the game against Huddersfield, not too serious but he’s not available tomorrow or the weekend. From there, we will check."
"Sadio has been good in training for the last two days. He is training completely normal, so all good. He is in contention."
