The former Liverpool full back insist Liverpool are still missing one player to help fire them to the title
Carragher was at Anfield to watch his former club draw 0-0 with title holders Manchester City on Sunday.
And speaking after the match, the Sky Sports pundit highlighted Liverpool's midfield as an area they need to reinforce if they are to become champions in May.
The Liverpool legend pointed out that the Red's midfielders are all the "same sort of player."
He stated that despite Liverpool not playing with a number 10 as such, they are missing a player in the mould of City's David Silva.
The Reds were fortunate to come away from the match with a point, as Riyad Mahrez blazed a penalty over the crossbar for City in the dying minutes.
Carragher is a keen admirer of Silva, who he named as one of the six best players in the division back in September.
Liverpool are now level with Chelsea and City on 20 points each as they bid to win their first Premier League title.
