There are needs for the Reds to add more depth to their backline after losing Ragna Klava to Cagliari
Liverpool were linked with a summer move to sign Alex Telles, they were reportedly ready to trigger the Brazilian 35million release clause.
Portuguese Newspaper A Bola reported that Jurgen Klopp was eager to beat Premier League rival Chelsea to signing the 25-year-old.
However, Liverpool cooled down their interest after Jurgen Klopp admit he's not targeting defenders as he was focused on adding strength to the team midfield.
Alex Telles had a stunning 2017-18 for Portuguese giant FC Porto, scoring four goals for the Dragons and providing 20 assists from his defensive role.
There is need for Liverpool to reignite their interest for the Brazilian to improve the depth of their backline. After selling Ragna Klavan the Reds are now left with three options [Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk] at the center-back.
Telles will only cost Liverpool less than £40million and he has the class to play in the Premier League.
