Liverpool are readying a new long-term contract for Sadio Mane
The Senegal international is currently tied to a five-year-deal he signed when he joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2016. The contract is yet to be terminated until 2021 but Liverpool are aiming for the player to extend his stay beyond that margin.
Mane 26, has been one of the Reds top fire power since his £30million arrival in 2016.
He scored a total of 20 goals last season.
The forward is now the only among Liverpool's front trio (Comprising; Firmino and Salah), that is yet to extend his stay with the club and he is set to be honored with an improved contract in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has lauded the awesome combination of the trio amid Philippe Coutinho's departure at the second half of last season.
“You cannot replace Philippe Coutinho with exactly the same kind of player,” said the Liverpool manager.
“I think the biggest thing we did in the second half of last season was that we didn’t need to speak too much about Phil. That wasn’t clear in January.
“We don’t need to replace Phil. We need to make a squad for the next year. Out there on the market, there isn’t a Phil Coutinho-lite. It’s not there.
“But there are a lot of good players and we have brought a few of them in.”
