Liverpool star to miss Manchester United friendly

Nathaniel Clyne has left Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United State

Clyne who had a late return to the team due to an injury-plagued campaign last term, was part of the Red team toured for the International Champions Cup games against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

However, the 26-year-old wont be part of the game against Manchester United in Ann Arbor on Saturday night after as he left the camp on Thursday

Liverpool FC has confirmed 'family reasons' was behind the full-back's return home. The club released a statement on Thursday revealing the player departure.


"Nathaniel Clyne has been granted permission by Jürgen Klopp to return home from Liverpool ’s United States tour early for family reasons.

"The full-back will depart back to England from New Jersey today, meaning he will miss the Reds’ trip to Michigan and the fixture with Manchester United on Saturday.

"Clyne will return to the squad for Liverpool’s training camp in France next week."

The Defender is now expected to return to the team for the next tour to France.
