Steve Nicol has picked three players Liverpool must get rid of this transfer window
The Liverpool legend started his list with Daniel Sturridge, admitting he's expected the striker to leave the club long ago.
Nicol told ESPN FC. “I’ve been saying for two years that Daniel Sturridge should go.
“So no surprise, Daniel Sturridge should go. But he isn’t going anywhere by the way, no chance.
“The money he’s on, nobody’s buying him.”
Sturridge on the other hand has been susceptible to injuries which has ruin too many of his game time under the Reds.
He was loaned out to spend the second half of last season at West Brom where he made just six appearances for the Baggies.
Following Daniel Sturridge on the list is Danny Ings.
The 26-year-old striker has been almost a regular bench warmer for Liverpool ever since his arrival from Burnley.
“Danny should go,” Nicol added.
“At the end of the day in my opinion, Danny’s a good Premier League player. Danny’s not a top-four striker in the Premier League in my opinion.
“He won’t play, so he needs to go as well.”
The final player on Nicol's blacklist is goalkeeper Loris Karius, who suffered a nightmare at Kyiv during the Champions League final against Real Madrid back in May.
Nicol concluded: “You need a backup that you know can step between the pipes for a couple of games and make some saves.
“It can’t be Karius because not only would the fans have his mistakes from last year on their mind, he’ll have them as well. So Karius has to go for his own good.”
