Liverpool are looking to solve problems facing goalkeeping role in the team with Stoke City goalkeeper Butland.

The Reds were plotting a £40million move for the 24-year-old according to reports but Stoke City are keen on keeping him as they continue their struggle to avoid relegation.

Stoke City new manager Lambert has told clubs targeting Jack Butland that the goalkeeper won't be allowed to leave this winter window.

“There is absolutely no way he is going in January. Absolutely no chance,” said Lambert. “As long as I’m here I’ll do everything I can to keep him.”
