Liverpool are on the brink of signing Virgil Van Dijk this January according to reports
Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino left Van Dijk out of his team for their last two Premier League matches, with the report suggesting that decision was made as talks between the two clubs made rapid progress.
Van dijk have been on Liverpool radar throughout the summer with several failed attempts to secure a deal for the Dutch man.
The Saint manager insisted Virgil Van Dijk won't leave the club in the summer despite the player handed in transfer request and revealed his interest in playing for the Reds.
However Liverpool are not giving up on the verge of bringing the Dutch man to Anfield as they look to strengthen their backline and fix defending errors which still has been the problem facing the team since the beginning of the season.
According to the Sunday World Liverpool have been given green light by the Saints to negotiate for the Dutch defender and that a £70 million price has been tagged on the defender.
