Thiago Silva is trying to convince Philippe Coutinho to join Paris Saint-Germain from Liverpool
Paris Saint-Germain are exploring the possibility of prizing Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, away from Anfield under the noses of Barcelona.
The Ligue 1 giants know that Barca are Coutinho's preferred suitors but will still launch a bid to sign him in the January window.
To counter that they have given club captain and fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva a mission to speak with him regularly in an attempt to lure him to PSG instead.
According to Telefoot, Silva started 'operation seduction' last week and is hoping he will be able to convince Coutinho to join him in the French capital.
"I talk with him a lot,' he told Telefoot. 'I hope that at the end of the season or even before Christmas, it could be a surprise for us, I hope he will think carefully and work with us.'
The PSG captain also admitted he had a hand in Neymar's world-record move from Barcelona in the summer, but insisted he simply wants the best for Coutinho.
"I think the most important thing is that he makes the best decision for him."
But when he was asked about what club he thought the Liverpool midfielder should sign for, it seemed as if there was only one option, replying without hesitation, 'Paris Saint-Germain'
