Ian Wright has questioned whether or not Jurgen Klopp really wanted to sign Andy Robertson for Liverpool
Robertson joined Liverpool from Hull over the summer for a fee of £8million, with Klopp desperate to shore up the left-hand side of his defence.
The 23-year-old has made just three starts this term for the Reds, with two of those coming in the Premier League.
Liverpool’s defensive problems have been evident, with the goal they conceded in the 1-1 draw away to Newcastle on Sunday the latest in a catalogue of mishaps.

And Wright has doubted whether Robertson was Klopp’s signing.
“Liverpool have also had huge problems at left-back but in Andy Robertson they have a man who can do the job, yet he has hardly played,” Wright told The Sun.
“What is that supposed to tell us? Was he not Klopp’s buy?”
Speaking more generally about the state of Liverpool’s back four, Wright added: “Defensively they continue to make such laughable mistakes, it’s as though no one ever thinks, ‘Hang on a minute, what happens if this breaks down and they come at us?’
“Klopp says he could write a book on defending in two hours, and maybe he could
“But doing it in theory is a world away from doing it in practice — and Liverpool certainly aren’t.
“I’m no defensive coach but even I can see the mistakes.”
