Ederson reveals GRUESOME injuries after his clash with Sadio Mane

MANCHESTER CITY goalkeeper Ederson yesterday revealed the horrific extent of his facial injuries after being kicked by Sadio Mane

Brazilian Ederson tweeted a picture of his face, with stitches across his cheek and near his eye socket, after the clash at the Etihad on Saturday which saw him treated on the pitch for eight minutes before he was carried off.
Mane was sent off but Liverpool officials can contest the length of the ban under Football Association rules by arguing that it is “excessive punishment”.
They will have to prove that Mane has been harshly treated when the case goes before an independent commission today.

The ban only applies to domestic games, meaning Mane can feature in tomorrow’s Champions League Group E opener against Sevilla at Anfield.

But he is set to miss Saturday’s home match against Burnley, plus two trips in five days to Leicester, first in the Carabao Cup, and then in the Premier League.
Several pundits, including former England defender Gary Neville and ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton, argued that the Senegal forward should not have been sent off.
There was more debate around the incident after Newcastle striker Matt Ritchie escaped with only a yellow card for a similar challenge on Swansea defender Alfie Mawson on Sunday.
