The Reds midfielder is wanted by the Italian giants and they now look to have got their man.
Gianluca DiMarzio report Liverpool gave the thumbs up to a deal yesterday.
They’re said to have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season, with the option but not obligation to then complete a permanent transfer.
Lucas has 18 months left on his Liverpool deal but isn’t a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
The Brazilian has mainly been used a backup central midfielder and stand-in centre-back.
But with Joe Gomez returning from injury, Lucas won’t be needed as a reserve defender any more.
Lucas joined Liverpool from Gremio in 2007 and has chalked up more than 250 starts for the club.
He’s got 11 appearances to his name this season, but hasn’t started since the 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth in early December.
